Good: Some pretty thought-provoking science shit.
Bad: Maybe a bit too many "der" moments for many audiences. Better be a damn sequel.

We came from them. They will come for us.

For some films, the audience is just too stupid to get it.  This could possibly be one of those films.  Don’t get me wrong though…I consider myself with one foot in that stupid crowd.  I didn’t get some of this movie, but I’m hoping this is going to be launching pad for at least another one or two sequels that will fill in the gaps.  There is an indication IMDb that at least one sequel is already in the works.

Anyway, I like movies like this and my wife does too.  Unfortunately, she hated it because it left her hanging.  I had not looked forward to a movie like this one in a long, long time and I felt a bit cheated also.  However, I hold onto that hope that this is the beginning of a fabulous series of movies about some shit I still don’t really understand.  We’ll see.

There was a lot of buzz about this film being some sort of prequel to the Alien Quadrilogy, but I only saw a very faint connection.  It might get expanded upon somewhat in later films, but I don’t see it as being a necessity.  The “connection” is all that is really needed and you should be able to piece some of it together yourself without help.  If not, you probably don’t need to watch this unless you just like being confused.

The ending doesn’t do the rest of the film much justice, but I’m guessing it’s not really supposed to.  Despite that, I’d say see it.
