Hotel Transylvania

Even monsters need a vacation.
I took my two oldest boys to see this opening weekend and I guess it’s just one more addition to a “seemingly heavy” Adam Sandler spectacular, as of late. I think this is what Sandler should stick to a little more closely, unfortunately. He did quite well in this type of role – he can do his trademark quips and quibbles and I don’t have to see his stupid facial expressions.
As for kids, mine enjoyed it, although my 4 year-old slept through all but the first 20 minutes or so. He had woken up at like 4am, so he crashed out after having some popcorn and Hi-C. The story was centered around “kids” that were a bit on the older side, but there was very little “hidden innuendos” that would pass by the younger crowd. “Thumbs up” for taking your family.
Overall, it’s worth a trip to theater, but not at full price. We went to a matinee and it was probably still not really worth that. If you have a value $1-2 cinema, wait for it there.
