Chernobyl Diaries
loading...
Ten years ago, the Ukrainian government let tourists visit the area around Chernobyl. They said it was safe… It wasn’t.
Let’s skip the tragic part and get straight to Chernobyl and Pripyat being some really cool places now that they’ve been dormant and left pretty much like they everyone instantly disappeared over 25 years ago. These places were made for horror movie settings.
Then came Chernobyl Diaries. A movie I expected little from, but didn’t expect to suck. I knew I would not be scared, but possibly entertained. Even just a little. Unfortunately, it was just like a bunch of other shitty movies I had already seen. Some not shitty, but already seen, making Chernobyl Diaries unoriginal in every aspect and – shitty. Seen Vacancy? How about [REC] or Quarantine? The Descent? If you said “Yes” to any of these, then you already saw something better, yet very similar, to Chernobyl Diaries. I would even watch one of those again.
Anyway, that’s it. I just find it pathetic you screw up a horror film when using a naturally creepy place like a nuclear disaster site. Fail.
