21 Jump Street

They’re too old for this shift.

I have never seen an episode from the original 21 Jump Street series.  I barely even know what it’s about.  This movie was one of those that was destined to get lost in the shuffle of new incoming titles, but while scrolling through the list on Friday night, my wife said, “Let’s watch that.”, and so we did.

She picked a winner.  We were both tired, but this movie had us both laughing non-stop until well past our normal bedtime.  The majority of it is idiotic humor, but maybe due to the fact that we were both so tired, it definitely found its sweet spot.  There’s actually a story within a story in this one and it’s the internal one that gets the most focus.  It’s not a bad thing at all.  I just hope they don’t try and make a sequel.  I also noticed Jonah Hill is not quite so fat and while I still don’t think Channing Tatum is much of an actor, he played the dumb jock cop part pretty well.
