Snowtown

Based on the shocking true story.
OK, where to begin? Hmmm…nowhere. This movie sucked. I love true stories, even though this one was a horrific tragedy. I’m not sure what I expected out of this, but I found myself bored to death and had a very difficult time paying attention to this at all. I’m pretty certain I spaced out several times and probably missed a few minutes here and there.
I saw this on Netflix and maybe it was some sort of edited version…I don’t know, but I certainly can’t call it disturbing, as is the primary buzz surrounding it. Well, unless a film is so bad it’s disturbing. In that case, yes – very disturbing. The actors weren’t bad or anything…in fact, they were pretty good. Just the part where I was supposed to be engrossed or entertained didn’t happen. That part sucked. The film primarily follows the life of the youngest participant of those associated with the murders and makes him out to be a victim. If the film comes even close to depicting his real upbringing, then he’s definitely a victim of something. However, I found it difficult to feel sorry for anyone in this film. Everyone was messed up and it was just too hard to follow most of the time.
Anyway, I guess if you need something to bore you to near death or put you to sleep, this is a top choice. Otherwise, I’d just take the dog out and watch him take a shit in the backyard…for 2 hours.
