Don’t sleep.  Don’t go home.  I’ll find you. – Mom.

I have a bit of a deal with my wife  – when she’s working the night shift over the weekends, I try not to watch any movies that she’d also like to watch with me.  So, I basically have to pick from a couple thousand of shit movies on my weekend nights alone.  It’s not a big deal as I’ve seen a few that were pretty damn good.  This was not one of those.

The Invasion is one of the oldest movies in my collection.  I normally keep my Media Browser library sorted by date – newest to oldest – and watch stuff that I’ve added over the past month or two.  A lot gets pushed to obscurity, just like this one did.  However, this particular weekend I decided to mix things up a bit and start browsing backwards through my oldest movies.

The Invasion is a remake of the classic 1978 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  Unfortunately (?), I have not seen that one.  It has to be better than this.  We’ve got 007 (Daniel Craig) playing some kind of CDC scientist and Nicole Kidman is looking like blow-up sex doll.  Lay off the Botox already.  The movie itself is just played out plain stupid.  It’s really ruined me from even wanting to see the original version.  I don’t remember if I even finished this as I can’t remember how it ended.  I just remember it being extremely corny.
